Public Relations Internship Program

St. John & Partners provides college students with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the public relations industry. A dynamic and fun work environment, St. John & Partners is an ideal place to garner trade skills and learn from successful professionals in the field. We seek applicants that are dedicated to this industry, have a passion for learning, and who desire to continuously improve. Our interns learn how an agency runs, gain applicable skills, and experience a company culture that is interactive and exciting. Additionally, each intern is assigned a point person so there is always someone to turn to with questions or concerns.


  • At least a college junior, preferably a senior
  • At least a B average in major
  • Declared a major in marketing, advertising or public relations
  • Completion of introductory coursework for the field of study (e.g. intro to public relations)
  • A working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote
  • Must receive college credit

Time Commitment

We understand students often juggle internships with classes, jobs or both. We do our best to work with their schedules to ensure all obligations are met. To achieve an effective experience as an intern with this agency, a minimum of 20 hours per week is required to ensure substantial opportunity for learning.


Below are some examples of what a public relations intern will be responsible for while interning with SJ&P:

  • Researching companies, trends, activities and news coverage for clients
  • Writing and editing news releases, advisories, media pitches, account correspondence, and other media materials
  • Assisting SJ&P staff in brainstorming and campaign design and execution
  • Attend client conference calls and meetings
  • Participate in event coordination and implementation
