American Lung Association
AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION
Internships with the American Lung Association in Florida office in Jacksonville are shadow based as opposed to apprenticeship based. There are hundreds of individual skills you can learn by spending time with the country’s oldest voluntary health organization. During your program, you will work alongside one staff member of the organization, fulfilling your credit requirement through on-the job experience. Not everything you do will be glamorous, but you will be doing the exact same things that your supervisor is involved with. You will be asked to plan, promote and executive your own fundraising event with the guidance of your supervisor, this will allow you to fully comprehend the event planning process and logistical operations of fundraising. In addition, you will attend meetings, presentations, events and more.
All interns are strongly encouraged to complete the program for credit, fulfilling the hour requirement of their individual program. All students must first submit a resume and visit the ALA offices for an interview. This is a competitive internship typically with more applicants than we can accept. All majors are accepted from all public and private educational institutions.
