Position Objective:
To support seasonal activities of the Development Department in an environment conductive to learning the responsibilities of the development and public relations functions.

• Senior pursuing a degree in public relations or related fields
• Positive, professional attitude and willing to work with others

• Verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of special events, fundraising activities and other public functions
• Ability set and meet deadlines, problem solve and manage multiple tasks
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• High level of creativity
• Knowledge of social media skills a plus

Essential Functions:
• Develop and maintain fundraising and/ or public relations programs
• Implement and monitor seasonal elements of the annual development plan and budget, including donor relations, cultivation and recognition
• Ensure prompt, accurate gift processing, gift acknowledgment and donor recognition activities
• Prepare materials that promote the organization’s varied programs
• Write letters and speeches as needed
• Write and produce materials and correspondence for agency activities
• Write and distribute news releases
• Assisting with management of organization’s social media sites
• Assist Development Specialist with fundraising activities
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

Flexible, but 16 hours a week preferred.
