We seek an exceptional student to work as an intern in its fast-paced and exciting Corporate Communications Department, which handles all internal and external communications including but not limited to: advertising, public/media relations, marketing collateral, web site and intranet development and enhancements, internet marketing, social media and employee communications.

Great opportunity for a student seeking a 20-25+ hour per week internship to advance his/her writing, and professional and communications skills. Schedule is flexible and pay is top rate at $13/hour. Individual must have major emphasis of study in journalism or public relations field, excellent writing skills and proficiency in AP style writing.

Our Corporate Communications Intern will do the following:

  • Assist with writing and editing of company publications including a biannual magazine, biweekly news brief, news releases, website articles, and internal news stories, all of which require interviewing/journalistic  skills
  • Provide photography and video assistance, and basic video editing/posting, if skills are present
  • Offer social media management and development support
  • Develop marketing collateral and perform special marketing projects alongside team members
  • Create and publish internal and external web content, including company websites, social media and intranet site
  • Archiving, cataloging and basic reporting of past company publications and news
  •  Help manage media lists and chart media relations activity using Vocus PR software.
  • Perform project work and administrative support as assigned

Other special requirements:

This position is higher profile than most internships, requiring substantial interaction with internal and external customers at all levels. We are looking for an articulate individual with professional appearance and demeanor and someone who can serve as a true extension of our department. A mature candidate with strong writing and creative thinking skills is preferred.
