Jacksonville Legal Aid, Inc. is a civil legal services nonprofit serving 17 countries. It’s mission is to obtain and provide high quality legal assistance to low income and other special need groups and to stimulate and empower groups of poor people to accomplish energetic and affirmative advocacy, all to alleviate the circumstances, incidents and causes of poverty.

Jacksonville Legal Aid (JALA) seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist development, marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing and media networking while working for well-known community based nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Director if Development and assists in the implementation of the strategic marketing and communications plan
  • Acts as the liaison between JALA Management team and journalists in major media outlets (television, print, and radio) to advance JALA’s mission and work
  • Expands branding of JALA program and events through all aspects of public relations
  • Creates plan to generate media interest in JALA activities through press releases, op-eds and story series.
