March of Dimes

The March of Dimes is a non-profit agency that provides a unique partnership of volunteers and professionals working together in the prevention of birth defects, infant mortality and prematurity. It is funded by voluntary contributions from individuals, businesses, and a variety of other organizations. While the internship is unpaid, interning with the March of Dimes provides a great resume building experience.


Junior/senior level Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, and/or Event Planning students who have a passion for nonprofit. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is a must, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience May Include:

  • Event planning and logistics
  • Write and publish newsletters
  • Create flyers, direct mail pieces and training resources
  • Coordinate radio and television PSA’ s, interviews and fact sheets
  • Manage donor base, solicitation, and build clientele
  • Recruit and manage event volunteers
  • Prepare campaign materials, organize events
  • Publicity/Media Relations for special events

The Northeast Florida Division of the March of Dimes provides an invaluable experience to interns wanting to have a hands-on experience in their field of study. The intern should look forward to multi-tasking, organizing, and adding their own creativity to the work they produce.

This internship is open during Winter, Spring, and Summer semesters.  There are three slots available.
