Jax Sports Radio 1010XL Multimedia Dept.



GOAL: To acquaint our 2-3 interns with all the different platforms and forms of
production 1010XL uses to deliver elite, hyper local content to our listeners and
consumers. Our interns will be given the opportunity to be an integral part of our daily
programming’s dissemination over terrestrial radio, as well as our video and social
channels.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Self-starter, motivated, and independent
  • Nuanced understanding of every major sport
  • Passion for content creation and identifying trends on social media
  • Must have a computer and/or iPhone with video editing software and USB/SD
    card adaptability
  • Familiarity with said video editing software, as well as social media and video
    channels of 1010XL
  • Provide own transportation
  • Familiarity with DSLR/video camera equipment

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:
As we enter Year 2 of the 1010XL Livestream and Year 3 of the Multimedia Department:
our interns will have the unique opportunity to be a part of our Content Producer Pilot
Program.
Instead of rotating shifts, our interns will be assigned a “shift” and program(s) that they
will work with throughout the duration of their internship. This will not only help the
intern, producer, and talent develop repertoire and consistency: the intern will
essentially be the “Junior Producer” for that program(s).

Morning Show Multimedia Production (6am-12pm)

  • The intern will arrive between 5:30-7 A.M. each morning and assist producers
    Emmanuel “ET” Thalerand and Dylan Denmark with “The Drill” and “Jaguars
    Today.”
  • Help ensure the 1010XL Livestream runs smoothly + design unique interface for
    specific programming
  • Film, edit and post viral segments on the 1010XL channels
  • Create graphics (Canva or Photoshop) that accompany the on-air broadcast
  • Assist with other Multimedia Team projects as assigned
  • Assist and shadow actual audio board usage and production of two live, on-air
    shows

Daytime Shows Multimedia Production (12pm – 6pm)

  • The intern will arrive between 10:30-11 AM and assist producers JJ LaSelva and
    RJ Saunders with “XL Primetime” and “The Frangie Show.”
  • Help ensure the 1010XL Livestream runs smoothly + design unique interface for
    specific programming
  • Film, edit and post viral segments on the 1010XL channels
  • Create graphics (Canva or Photoshop) that accompany the on-air broadcast
  • Assist with other Multimedia Team projects as assigned
  • Assist and shadow actual audio board usage and production of two live, on-air
    shows

*Shifts (including a third, nightside opportunity) subject to change, depending on intern
availability

Examples of “Other Multimedia Team projects as assigned”:

  • Breaking News graphics and other daily content
  • Creating and inputting recaps and data spreadsheets
  • Filming spontaneous 1010XL content (i.e. The Dewey’s, 1010XL Cook-Off’s,
    1010XL Pro Bowl Challenge)
  • Attending and/or editing OTAs and Mini-Camp content
  • Helping Graham record/film/edit podcast
