Deck the Chairs

Description of Organization: Deck the Chairs (DTC) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the arts and encourages creative collaboration. In 2013, DTC launched Jacksonville Beach Deck the Chairs (JBDTC), an annual holiday tradition for the community to decorate and display lifeguard chairs. The event focuses on the design/build process and provides free public space for artistic expression including dance, music, and theatre. Proceeds from JBDTC benefit arts and education programs, local economy, and other nonprofit organizations including the Volunteer Life Saving Corps of Jacksonville Beach. Deck the Chairs, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity.

Job Description: Advertising/Communication Intern

Advertising/Communications interns at Deck the Chairs must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and will be required to perform the following:

• Draft public relations materials
• Manage social media
• Assist with content development and editing of e-newsletters
• Assist with event planning and special projects
• Prepare documents for board and committee meetings
• Collect, organize, and record media references
• Research grants and other funding opportunities
• Assist with administrative duties including printing and mailing
