Public Relations/Communications/Special Events Intern

This position  is responsible for assisting the Hubbard House Development and Community Education Departments with  event  production, marketing communications, social media, media relations and public relations.

 

Qualifications:

  • An individual who is currently pursuing or has obtained a degree in communications, public relations, marketing and/or related  fields.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Adobe/Canva a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in social media and/or graphic design is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive, professional, can-do attitude.
  • High level of organization and the ability to multi-task.
  • Passionate about Hubbard House’s mission: safety, empowerment and social change for domestic violence victims and their families.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsibilities  include, but are not limited to, assisting members of the Development team with:

  • Writing press releases, media alerts, calendar listings and other PR/marketing materials as needed.
  • Assisting with the planning and logistics for Hubbard House special events including Domestic Violence Awareness Month, October press conference, Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast, Hubbard House Domestic Violence Awareness Walk, and other events as directed.
  • Tracking media mentions and social media metrics.
  • Developing social media content and blog articles.
  • Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.

Hours: Flexible, generally during weekday business hours
