Communications Internship Opportunity
Communities In Schools of Jacksonville is a premiere dropout prevention organization helping kids successfully learn, stay in school, and achieve in life. We reach more than 7,000 students in 40 Duval County schools through mentoring, literacy tutoring, case management, and after school programs.
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Resource Development department in event production, marketing communications, and public relations.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting members of the Development team with:

- Coordinating press releases, media alerts, calendar listings and other PR/Marketing materials as needed.
- Assisting with the planning and logistics for Communities In Schools of Jacksonville Spring signature event.
- Assisting with the creation and implementation of marketing materials for the Communities In School of Jacksonville annual campaign.
- Assisting with the management of the organization’s social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Website Blog, etc.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, marketing and/or related fields. ·
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledgeable of social media applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- High Level of organization and the ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to provide a minimum of 15 hrs/per week. Must be able to pass background screening.
