Beaches habitatBeaches Habitat for Humanity is searching for a Marketing / Special Events Intern who will be responsible for assisting with many marketing activities and special events that will publicize the Beaches Habitat for Humanity mission to increase support for the affordable housing cause in the Jacksonville Beaches community. This includes contributing to digital marketing campaigns, helping with website updates, monitoring and creating content for social media channels, producing various marketing materials, and aiding in the production of our special events.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing & Communications
    • Update print materials
    • Create special solicitations, including quarterly newsletters and Christmas solicitation
    • Assist with creating, editing, and publishing content to the website
    • Manage social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and Flickr)
    • Assist Executive Director with donor relations
    • Special Events
      • Assist Executive Director with sponsorships and various special event production needs
      • Produce event publicity material, including print and digital marketing (social media and intranet)
      • Create event signage

 Required Skills:

  • High school diploma of equivalent required
    • Currently pursuing or already obtained a degree in graphic design, communications, event coordination, or marketing (*or extensive experience in any of these areas).
    • An understanding and appreciation of the Habitat model
    • Flexibility
    • Strong research skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Detail oriented and highly organized
    • Possess good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of design software is a plus (Adobe Creative Suite)

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
  • Personal transportation (this position may include some off-site meetings)
