River Garden

River Garden is a not-for-profit, mission-driven community agency offering an array of elder-care programs and services on a 40-acre campus in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. The River Garden campus includes: River Garden Hebrew Home, a 180-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility; The Coves at River Garden, an 80-unit independent living community; River Garden Home Health Care, a Florida licensed and Medicare certified home health agency; River Garden Rehab, providing short-stay rehabilitation and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies; River Garden Adult Day Care; The Albert Z. Fleet Geriatric Training Center, providing continuing education, training and professional advancement for staff; and the River Garden Foundation, providing financial support for senior services. In addition, The River Garden Auxiliary provides support through contributions and hundreds of volunteer hours.

Internship Program in Communication and Marketing

River Garden has several audiences including but not limited to families, patients, candidates, staff and the public. In this role, a student will have experience appealing to each designated audience using a variety of media.

Experience will include:

• Brand management and collateral development
• Recruitment marketing
• Social Media platforms (Facebook, Linkedin)
• Support for television and website content

Candidate Requirements:

• Reliable, self-motivated, positive, personable, able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups, tactful, mature and flexible.
• Possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
• Ability to collaborate with others, keeping a creative outlook and mindset
• Organization and time-management skills to manage multiple projects
• Ability to think on your feet with independent drive
• Ability to build relationships with coworkers to participate in content creation (video/photo)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Publisher and PowerPoint; interest in short video would be a plus
• Experience in Social Media
