Brooks Rehabilitation has been a leader in providing rehabilitation care for almost 50 years. As a nonprofit organization based in Jacksonville, FL. Brooks operates one of the nation’s largest inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S. with 160 beds, one of the region’s largest home healthcare agencies, 38 outpatient rehabilitation clinics, a rehabilitation medicine physician practice, two skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and memory care. In addition, Brooks operates the Clinical Research Center, which specializes in research for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and more to advance the science of rehabilitation

About the department:

The Brooks Rehabilitation’s Integrated Marketing Communications team consistently advances the organization’s strategic plan with integrated marketing programs and services for our stakeholders: patients, loved ones, employees, media, communities, referring physicians, and governing and accrediting bodies. The team is responsible for all the communications functions and channels for Brooks Rehabilitation.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  1. Create content for all channels. The intern will work to create new content for all of our channels to include social media, blog, websites, intranet, and more. this can include creating engaging patient stories or profiling our staff.
  2. Event support. The intern will assist in supporting various events for our stakeholders and constituents.
  3. PowerPoint and content creating support. The intern will help create content for our communications channels. The content may be in PowerPoint or more.
  4. Assist in implementation of the organization’s new digital asset management system. The digital asset management system will be our process for organizing, storing and retrieving media and managing digital rights and permissions. Assets include photos, music, videos, animations, podcasts, and other multimedia content. The intern will help identify, catalog and tag content that will be leveraged within the new system.
  5. Assist with the implementation of our new Intranet platform. The intern will assist in supporting our new transition to our Intranet platform. This will include helping migrate old content to the new platform, assisting in organizing content, coordinating with key stakeholders and problem solving to ensure a successful transition to the new platform.
  6. Skills required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professionalism. Experience with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Attention to detail. The ability to carry out tasks independently and also comfortable working in a team environment. Graphic design, video or photography skills a plus. Project management software skills a plus.
