Primary Purpose of Internship Opportunity
PSM is a small non-profit organization with very limited budget for advertising or print communications. This a good project opportunity for you while studying communications and/or marketing. The agency could benefit from your ideas for updated informational fliers/print, video clips, or informational videos about our agency, individual programs as well as our website and social media footprint.
What does PSM do?
PSM has 3 unique programs
- Home Safe: a program partially funded through HUD that houses 60 households. We offer case management support & assist them with finding employment or receiving benefits, and when appropriate, directing them to rehabilitation programs.
- Urban Mission Experience program hosts high school, college & church youth volunteer groups willing to donate their time & energies that evolve into community service trips to our city. PSM provides on-site lodging & food.
- Clothing Program: we gather, sort & redistribute clothing to other nonprofit organizations. Over 300k pieces of clothing are collected, sorted & dispersed to partner agencies annually.
Qualifications:
- Undergrad or graduate level student preferred.
- Professionalism is required. Positive representing the agency in the community is vital.
- Previous nonprofit experience is preferred, but certainly not required.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, colleagues, agency partners and volunteers as necessitated.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Ability to write and communicate clearly and professionally.
